PTDN holds a Corridor Welcoming Receptions approximately every 2 months.  PTDN also hosts informal "Third Places" gathering twice monthly at Corridor sites of interest.  All events are intended to promote awareness of the diversity of the area and afford attendees opportunities to network.  In addition to these events PTDN supports other local organization and promotes their culturally diverse events.

PTDN “Third Places”

Join PTDN as we help locate and explore special “Third Places”.

Our lives have three “Places”: the home, the workplace, and “Third Places.”  Join us as we explore interesting and new “Third Places” in the Corridor.  Meet and network with new friends in an informal, friendly environment.  We try to pick places we feel help celebrate the diversity of our community.

We schedule PTDN “Third Place” events targeting the 1st Monday of the month in Cedar Rapids, and the 3rd Monday of the month in Iowa City, starting at 5:00 PM.  Our hosts graciously agree to reserve an area of their establishments for us to gather, and/or extend their hours for us.  Refreshments generally will be available from our hosts.

Schedule of 2009 "Third Place" events.   Several great, imaginative ideas for new locations, are being explored for future events and will be posted as they are confirmed.
